Brandies - a potable spirit obtained by distilling wine.
Fruit Brandies - a potable spirit obtained by distilling a fermented
mash of fruit.
Whiskies - a spirit obtained from the distillation of a fermented mash
of grain.
Rums - a spirit obtained from the distillation
of a fermented mash of sugarcane juice or molasses.
Gins - a flavored beverage obtained by redistilling
a high-proof spirit in the presence of juniper berries and other flavoring
agents.
Vodka - a neutral spirit distilled to be without
distinctive character, aroma, taste, or color.
Liqueurs and Cordials - the flavor is obtained by infusion or distillation
of the flavoring agent, to which a simple syrup is added for sweetening.
Other Spirits - Tequila, Aquavit, Okolehao,
and bitters - are obtained by distilling various fermented starchy or
sugar containing plants. |
